”Tell your heart that the fear of suffering is worse than the suffering itself. And that no heart has ever suffered when it goes in search of its dreams…”

[Pah-NAAH VOO]. Health care professional turned UX Designer.

I am a curious child of immigrants. My parents immigrated to MN as refugees after the Vietnam War. Due to my parent’s unfamiliarity with American society and culture, I developed a curiosity about how the world works from a young age. This curiosity would lead me to pursue a Bachelor of Science where I focused on Sociology, Health Services Management, and Public Health. My dream was to work in health care to serve patients who have trouble navigating the health care system as my parents did. After working as a health care professional for a couple of years, I found myself reflecting on how to take my career to the next level. My reflection and search for the next steps took me on a journey in rediscovering my passions. In my search, I came across User Experience Design and was immediately drawn to the human-centered aspect of UX. I took a leap of faith to shift careers and haven’t looked back since.
